Pros
At Integrhythm, Employees can work from home so for most people that means that they have a great / flexible work environment. There are occasional 'Office Days' where we meet and work as a team so we can get face time with our peers and have a team lunch. There have also been plenty of planned ‘Happy Hour’ events where we have met up to just hang out or to celebrate an accomplishment in the company. We have also had had multiple team building events such a running the Rugged Maniac 5K. We have an office in India where most of our developers work from. They are a talented team to work with and I have built a lot of relationships with them that often will bring about conversations that are not work related, but instead, conversations that friends would have with each other. These interactions are not purely remote though, many members of our India team have traveled to the US to job shadow consultants and experience working face to face with clients. I have also taken advantage of the opportunity to travel to India for 3 weeks in 2016. It was an awesome experience that I will never forget and our top leadership is always looking for others that would like to go to India, so International travel is always a possibility for any of our team members. I have gotten to work with a wide variety of clients ranging from big pharma to retail to school districts. Developing the relationships with the clients with differing business goals in various geographic regions around the country has been an awesome experience. This often includes occasional travel (which I really enjoy) to meet face to face with our clients. These trips are typically only 3-4 days in length, during which we are getting to know our client’s personalities, their business objectives and working with them to plan out their project. These are great experiences and are one of my favorite components of the overall process to be a part of. Integrhythm leadership's primary focus isn't just on growing the company, but they also encourage growth in their employees by providing us opportunities to get our names out and known within the ServiceNow community. Everyone has plenty of chances to do what they are passionate about while at the same time being challenged to stretch into areas that they may have less experience / knowledge. We have training available to us and ample time is given to accomplish certifications. When we successfully pass paid certification exams, we are reimbursed the expense of the exam. Each year, Integrhythm has a booth at ServiceNow’s largest event (aka PARTY) of the year: Knowledge. Knowledge is an event where 15 to 20 thousand people come together to both celebrate and to learn about ServiceNow. Integrhythm brings many employees to the conference each year where we receive lots of hands on training in the latest ServiceNow applications, hear tons of success stories from other companies that are using the NOW platform, eat a ton of food and have plenty of opportunities to party.
Cons
It took a bit of time for me to get used to going from a corporate environment to primarily working from home. It was easy in the corporate world to walk away from work and forget about it until you went back in the next day, but it was not so easy to do when your home is your office. So, this isn’t really a ‘CON’ for Integrhythm, as much as it has turned out to be a growth opportunity for myself to learn how to maintain a work life balance. I have found that if I am putting in too many hours, it has been of my own doing and not a demand from my management. There has been times where the notice for travel has been short, which can be an inconvenience, though I have found that if I really already have something planned and am open about this that alternative arrangements can be made and it has not been held against me.
