Pros

The one good thing about working at IMMI are its products. I worked there as a product development engineer for almost 6 years, and it was fulfilling to design products that could save children's lives.

Cons

It is hard to describe how miserable and depressed I became while working at IMMI. The owners of the company are devout evangelical Christians, and give promotions to friends and family members, whether they are qualified or not. The owners act like they are perfect and treat Upper Level Management (friends and family) like they are also perfect. This is in stark contrast to how employees are treated, which can be cold and unfair. For instance, my manager once told me that "my job was to make him look good". That was not true, because my job was to develop robust products that could save children's lives. The wages paid to engineers at IMMI are below average. The opportunities for promotion are minimal, unless you are a close friend or family member. Soon after I started working there, I sensed a cultural 'underflow' that is difficult to describe, except to say that it is quite similar to the Mafia in that if you cross someone close to the family, watch out. Employees are definitely not free to speak their minds, but will most likely be punished for doing so.

Pros

good community and people to work with, some of the best and competitive PTO hours you can get

Cons

As far as manufacturing if you have experience at all, you can go to many other places in surrounding areas and receive higher salary, better and cheaper Benifits, etc.. Management is a “figure it out” kind of management, there is no REAL support team except for yourself, friends along the way, and your knowledge you have learned; with this the more you learn, the more you will have to do exceeding your job description without the proper compensation. No 401k match, but an esop.. esop is great and grows fast! BUT! You cannot get it until 5 years after retirement.. if you’re still alive. Unless you have a degree it seems you will never move up or go anywhere else if starting on production floor, they would rather hire someone outside unfamiliar with the company over and over until someone is promising
