The company appears to be a continuous work in progress. Organizational changes are repeatedly happening, often guided by political decisions and personal favors rather than a real strategy.
As a result, people are extremely confused. It is common to receive contradictory indications from management or to change radically approach in just a few months. Being the appointment of managers decided on personal favors in most of the cases, it frequently happens that new managers are just parachuted in the new role without any previous experience and/or related expertise.
Just as a representative example, my BU (being in the same job function all along) changed C-X executive three times in the last three years.
On top of that, the company is extremely fragmented in numerous sub-companies and BUs that have different set of goals, processes and tools. Communication between these sub-companies is practically not existent and is almost impossible to reconcile numbers and processes across the different tools.
Last but definitely not least, there is no possible growth within the company. Salaries are often below average, and the only possible way to increase them is to threaten resignation or to have a lucky break during one of the mentioned restructurings.
