Pros
Pay is pretty good in my department. Benefits are amazing. Tuition reimbursement, healthcare, vacation/sick time. Great coworkers. My manager is by far one of the best managers in the building. Communication within the department is good (although the same can’t be said for every other department).
Cons
The company could do much better if it would learn to let go of some of its current management. There are some there that actually hinder progress and kill the morale of their team. Upper management hasn’t taken any action so far despite the many complaints (very likely that the complaints are being blocked by lower management so upper management never even hears them). Company has initiated employee engagement surveys for the past 2 years but there has been extremely little action taken to improve morale. There are hardly any growth opportunities. As an employee, it is nearly impossible to move up into management. Manager positions are very scarce and when they do open, the company tends to hire external managers who have absolutely no idea what they are doing instead of promoting people that know the job inside and out.
