Pros
It was good to start with… in 2008
Cons
The place has basically been Alan Joyced. It did used to be a great place to work: staff worked hard, we did excellent work, and were treated pretty well. We enjoyed an excellent reputation in the community that was both well earned and well deserved. New management then decided we should maintain the high quality, excellent work… just make it more profitable. So, like, more money, but just without enough staff, plus really long wait times, slow reporting, EAs with no payrises, cutting allowances, failing to provide adequate training or support for customer facing roles (yes, now you’re customers, not patients) but throwing them under the bus when inevitable mistakes are made, excessive pressure to be “productive” but somehow still compassionate and caring and not cut corners, and celebrating a culture of worker exploitation - yay, going above and beyond! Profit over all. Even charging oncology patients, whoops, I mean CUSTOMERS, out of pocket fees now 😔 Strangely, this isn’t proving to be very sustainable? So their answer is to market the hell out of it; put on a BIG fake happy smile and tapdance like hell, singing verrrry loudly that everything is awesome! And hope like mad it’s enough of a distraction that nobody else notices that the wheels are falling off, the wings are held on with sticky tape… well not before they tapdance their way out the door with their pockets stuffed full of money anyway. Disgusting.
