Pros
This agency was founded by caring, experienced professionals. They really look out for their staff and clients. I immediately noticed that they encourage rapport building and connection with clients. I had seen other agencies have therapists go out in the field hidden by computers and tablets without the emphasis on client-therapist connection. The case supervisors use evidence-based programs that suit the client specifically, while also leaving room for out-of-the-box activities. I feel like we provided holistic care and that the families and clients were grateful for this type of approach. Overall, the job provides you with a lot of hands-on experience working with clients with behavioral challenges. It’s good to know the company has your back and supports your professional development.
Cons
The downsides come with the territory of working with clients with behavioral challenges - depending on the client, the job can be physically and emotionally demanding.
