Pros
Meeting new people every day is nice. The environment I have found with working at the Hyatt is laid back and generally comfortable. People are rather friendly at every Hyatt I have worked at. Also, the surroundings can't be beat. Overall it is an enjoyable company to work for. If you like to travel there are employee discounts, and after a year as a full time employee you get 12 free nights. There is a cafeteria where you eat free. Sometimes its good food, and other days just okay. But like any other big resort or hotel corporation the food for employees is included, and you get discounted hotel rates.
Cons
Compensation is little for what we do, and the importance of our role. If you are not making money on up sells expect to take home under $1000 every two weeks. Some of the assistant managers I have found to be under qualified and unfit to be in their position, which makes it hard on every one, especially people below them. I have seen a little bit of politics as well, but I feel like that cannot be escaped working for a large corporation, or any where really. Also, from my understanding Hyatt is a company that is known in the industry for paying less than its competitors. The biggest con would be what I first mentioned; under qualified or unfit management.
