Pros

Client work is great, when you actually get to do any

Cons

This is an appalling, exploitative employer. They have overhired at a furious rate in the last few months, purely so they can have more therapists on the books. But most therapists hired in the last few months still only have about 5-10 clients, meaning it is literally impossible to make a living. I can't emphasize this enough: the company hires you on a 'full-time' contract, makes you sign a non-compete so you can't work for other private providers, gives you about 5-10 hours of pay per week, and then condescends to you about how this is a normal situation for LPs. I hope that in time, labor laws will make this kind of thing illegal. For now, it doesn't matter how desperate you are for a job, just don't take one here. There are other options out there where you'll actually make an income.

We make it clear throughout the hiring process that if employed by us, a clinician cannot work at another private practice. This is because of admin and billing issues that will inevitably arise with insurance companies when they flag a clinician working under multiple licensed NPIs. We also make it clear from the start of the interview process that clinicians are free to work anywhere else while employed with us: clinics, non-profits, agencies, etc. The choice to accept a position is on the clinician, knowing the boundary we have for all clinical staff.

Pros

I can focus on my clients without worrying about billing or marketing. The organization handles the operational side, which frees up time for session preparation and professional development. Clear processes keep everything on track. The systems are efficient, and support is always available.

Cons

Caseloads can build up quickly, so it's important to be flexible.
