C-level leadership isn’t experienced enough in running a B2B SaaS business, and it shows. Strategy has never been on solid ground and keeps changing in ways that seem random to most employees. While these changes often happen rapidly, it shouldn’t be mistaken for agility – the culture isn’t very data-driven, especially on the product side. Unfortunately, in addition to an unclear and poorly researched strategic direction, internal communication is also often lacking and confusing. The seemingly low hierarchy mostly shows up as chaos rather than empowerment, and key decisions are still made by the founders behind closed doors. There’s also some noticeable nepotism. This company is unfortunately not ideal for ambitious people who truly want to make an impact in a fast-moving company.
