Your experience will vary based on the personality of your management. Most times, they are ok. Time off can be generous, and pay can be competitive to private sector. Job security can be high, but sometimes dismissal are done like in private sector. If you make the right friend, you can move up very fast. Overall, good employer.
Cons
You have to learn to manage up some of the mangers. Sometimes, they can be unreasonable and rude. Promotions are done in social networks. Unlikely you will learn much nor build your professional skill. Get some life experience from this employer, and move on.
