Pros
When I join, salary look decent. HR talk sweet-sweet. Later I realise it was starter before heartbreak. Salary now like wall clock — move, but go nowhere. Everything is always “urgent urgent”, like world ending daily. But if I ask for one leave, they look like I ask for CEO seat. Raise? Promised like monsoon — always "next quarter", but never come. Appraisal is like movie trailer — lot of buildup, nothing in the end. 15% hike and manager say “We doing best”. Inflation hear this and laugh in background. Promotion only for lucky draw winners — or relative of someone upstairs. If you normal person, better luck in next birth. Process? What process. Rules change like daily horoscope. Today Slack, tomorrow email, next day maybe pigeon. CEO change plan faster than people change WhatsApp DP. Project is “super critical” today, and “never existed” by Friday. Freshers will feel excited in beginning. New laptop, new ID card, new dreams. But after some months, you realise company need freshers because old people already escape. Training is one slideshow, and after that — boom — you are engineer. Sink or swim? Mostly sink. With holes in boat. Team leads? Walking red flag with Bluetooth. Technically zero, but speak like Steve Jobs’ cousin. Bug come — vanish. Credit come — front row dance. Feedback time feel like horror movie with background music. Help? Only if camera is on. Company culture is “we are family” — but more like TV serial family. Smiles outside, full gossip inside. If you work hard, they ignore. If you butter, they promote.
Cons
Joy is like solar eclipse — rare and people stare. Rest of time, darkness. But yes — I learn many things: Like how to fix bug while eating roti, how to cry on mute in Zoom, and how to say “noted” when nothing is noted. Not saying anything bad. Just memory sharing. Hope company take peaceful break. Maybe long one. Maybe permanent.
