seriously - believe everything you're reading here if you're considering coming to corp from a store or starting a career here. it's a machine centered on making money for the investors and an absolute meat grinder for everyone below. you will go YEARS without a raise - they'll just tell you to work more hours if you want more money. blatant incompetency at the corporate level - people promoted to their roles when the company was tiny that are now in over their heads AND/OR nepo babies. constant turnover in corporate, constant turnover everywhere. they constantly have to remind employees how great and unique the culture is - huge red flag - and truthfully the culture is toxic. they have no concept of employees having lives outside of the stores, and no concept of boundaries. they will tell you you're like family and then shutter your location with days notice. every time someone quits and gives leadership meaningful feedback - they go on a smear campaign about how that person couldn't cut it in the fast paced environment and how lazy and incompetent they are instead of learning or changing a single thing. you will be personally blamed for literally everything possible if it means leadership doesn't have to take any accountability for how they run the company - for example there's no recession, just lazy employees not selling or doing enough. If you report harassment, even repeatedly - your manager won't document with HR, nothing will change. oh, and they don't pay employees for holidays they're closed anymore. Yep - even christmas and thanksgiving. seriously - don't even think about it.
