Pros

Good health care benefit package.

Cons

Leaving has been a very good decision. Toxic practices are allowed and actively praised. You are praised more for speed that doing a safety critical job properly. The phrase 'just get it done' is congratulated. Safety comes second, be it personal or train. If you raise a problem, you are seen as the problem. Your face needs to fit. Toxic people have been placed into management positions. Things like train movements are seen as a lower class, despite how dangerous it can be. The rule book doesn't seem to apply to these people.

Pros

Nice location near downtown and Southside. Half the building has a view of the river. Benefits are competitive (medical, dental, vision). Free garage parking across the street.

Cons

The employee perks have continuously declined over time. They used to have a nice catered Christmas party that disappeared during the pandemic and never returned. They used to have a common sense policy for meals while traveling, but that was just replaced with limits for each meal that are inadequate if you are traveling to a major city. They are also starting to track how many days each person comes to the office and seem to value that more than the results produced by each person. The company also does not reward people for going above and beyond, such as working significant overtime, working night shift at site, etc.
