Pros

Working from home with salary and benefits, Fun co-workers

Cons

Management only cared about one thing - themselves and their personal career growth. They did not treat the employees well, they did not set the employees up for success, and they purposely wanted remote workers so that they could pay lower wages (since they are based in SF and wages there are sky high), but they also demanded an inordinate amount of stressful work for the little they paid. The whole environment felt toxic because you could tell that the stress placed on the employees was due to management wanting to continue moving up the chain and making more money for themselves. (I'm sure management has changed a million times since then, so maybe it is awesome now)

Pros

HireAthena is an amazing company to work for! The company is completely remote [to support it's mission of hiring 1M stay home parents] so it's very flexible and you can design your assigned schedule around your life for that perfect work-life balance. Even though it's all virtual, the communication channels are amazing and I still get to connect with everyone as if I was in the office. Everyone's very nice and it feels like family. There was a recent change in management and we got a new CEO, Paula, who's very involved and very understanding. The company's growing and I'm glad to be a part of it!

Cons

If you're not used to working fully remote, this might not be for you.

Pros

Great team Strong social mission Fast paced Ability to work from home Catered lunch in the SF office The CEO is taking a long, hard look at the entire service delivery model and honestly trying to address the biggest issues. The employees really care about what we're doing and are committed, not just showing up for a paycheck. And a lot really are moms and dads working from home, signing off to go to a swim meet with their kids before they log back on later to finish up. I'm happy to be part of a company that is trying to make it possible for parents to provide for their families AND actually get to spend time with their kids.

Cons

Lots of change (start up life) I know that comes with the territory when you work at a start up, so it shouldn't come as a surprise. Given the reevaluation of our business, there are many good changes that are happening, but it can be a lot to keep up with.
