Pros
Your coworkers will be the best part of your experience here. I’ve made some amazing friends and life long relationships with the people here. It is very laid back and you can feel comfortable here most of the time. (It’s honestly a super easy job that’s made difficult by the management). Your direct managers will, 95% of the time, know what they’re doing and are there to help you sift through the never-ending pile of garbage that gets placed on your desk. You have a lot of paid holidays off, and occasionally incentives besides the bonus. You will also learn so much to take to your next job (which will pay and appreciate you SO much more.) If you are looking to start a job in digital marketing, Hibu Academy is a good start. Otherwise, run.
Cons
While your coworkers and direct managers can make this job more enjoyable and you gain skills to take along with you in your career growth, this place needs to hit the reset button. As a wise person once said “Put garbage in, get garbage out”. That is Hibu to a T. They are constantly flip flopping positions, changing bonus structures and responsibilities, rolling out pilots that don’t make it past week 1 and don’t listen to what the EMPLOYEES are saying (and then wonder why things aren’t going well or why client are constantly cancelling). Upper management is exactly that- management. They’re so hungry for money, don’t know how to lead and they wouldn’t recognize talent and potential in their employees if they solved the Drake equation in front of their face. They don’t listen to what DSCs have to say- even when the turnover rate for them is THROUGH the roof- and shoo away anyone who has a valid question or concern with new structure. They are putting garbage effort into their people and not listening, when all they need is a little guidance and to work as a team, not a gang. Also important to mention that the support team, analysts, designers and copywriters are 90% off-shore, not helping the insane “client for life” structure. I have clients cancel monthly because they don’t want to deal with off-shore. The company is so out of touch and they don’t realize it and then they put the responsibility of retention on DSCs when they wouldn’t need to if they had a better structure to begin with. Another note- stop allowing sales reps to sell to Chucks in a Truck or fake businesses that will cancel and land on the DSCs shoulders, all so they can make their quota and a quick buck. It’s ridiculously unfair and stop using the excuse that you can’t control them. They are your employees and they are representing your company. Figure it out or soon you’ll be nothing but a forgotten memory.
