No work life balance. You work your scheduled shifts but have to be available 24/7 for employees on your personal phone. If an employee calls off, you have to cover for them, regardless of if it’s your day off, weekend, etc with no overtime pay. As a manager, you are also required to be a floor tech and strip, wax, buff, and scrub floors yourself. Pay is abysmal. District and regional leaders micromanage to the point where if you don’t respond to a text or call immediately, it’s a problem. Again, no work life balance. You will be glued to your phone and unable to decompress because you are required to be “on” and “working” even at home. Example: I dared to go to a movie with my kids on a Saturday afternoon, and got chewed out for not responding to texts from my supervisor because my phone was on DND for the 90 minutes I was in the theater. You have no backup whatsoever, you are the only manager at your account, so you’re expected to drop everything if something happens. Example: I was again, with my kids on a Saturday, at a gymnastics meet, and had to leave before my daughter competed to go to my account and restock toilet paper. Insane.
