Terrible place to work - Anonymous employee HealthOne Alliance Employee Review

Pros

Pay is average. Work from home.

Cons

I was the sole employee in my department for a year. That meant all the work fell on me. Upper management said they would be hiring someone to help me, but all they did was hire a new manager who did nothing but complain that I want getting the work done fast enough when I was doing the work of a full department by myself. I was working 60 hour weeks just to get through my workload and since I was salaried, I wasn't compensated for my additional work. And on top of all that my boss would set up copious amounts of frivolous meetings that wasted our time and disrupted my workflow. And when I missed a meeting due to the absurd workload that was put on me, I was fired. They pretend to care about their employees. They act like you're part of a "family", but when they've exhausted your usefulness they will toss you aside like trash and move on to their next victim.

Pros

Overall, there is a nice culture at HOA, however management can and will make or break the experience each employee has. This place has potential, but my experience was less than ideal.

Cons

PAL is misleading and not as good as they make it seem. You start out with a decent amount of time per year, but you must use it towards holidays if you want that day off (even Christmas, etc). Job description was also quite misleading and role was much more complex than advertised. Management is MIA and gives little to no direction. My supervisor was unresponsive and leaves you hanging, causing multiple follow-up requests and uncertainty on how to plan, or even go about daily tasks. Training is not cohesive, and is hardly enough to get by in the role.
