The company is perfectly fine. This department is a fetid trash swamp. - Customer Service Health-E Commerce Employee Review

Pros

Pretty Solid Benefits Nice Company Overall Company will do will -- serving a niche market well Larger company (NOT this team) was friendly, open, and got along well

Cons

Toxic Working Environment (in this department) LONG hours no room for growth Some issues that were brought up to management but ignored during my time there -sexual harassment -wage theft (asking us to work through unpaid lunch hours -- calling the team "ungrateful" if they refused). - toxic work environment (Ex: Manager telling employees that other members of the team "hated them" and were always "gossiping behind your back". If that's true -- that's a pretty terrible way to handle it.) -bad record keeping (during my time there they underpaid me from the salary noted on my offer letter. When brought up, they simply said "that was our mistake, but you've already been making [$2 less per hour]. If that's not good enough you can leave" (hence: my status as "former employee") ***Be wary of good reviews. During my time there, the customer service manager had us all log in and post positive reviews. She claimed that these falsified reviews would help the company to sell, which would ultimately add value to our stock options.

Pros

remote work that feels like you're in a room with adults. however, there are a few too many "thought leaders" in the over bloated exec team which make priorities and ownership confusing. they have an amazing competitive advantage with insurance partnerships, but it felt as if there were too many cooks in the kitchen at times which made work take longer than it needed to with far too many rounds of revisions/approvals.

Cons

empower individuals to truly own their lanes. snuff out people that are all talk and no action. learn from poor investments - create more narrow strategy and execute. certain teams and managers unfortunately can be/feel cliquey. some teams will assign blame to others/point the finger across the aisle vs. take accountability. can feel a little "style over substance" with flashy off sites, remote perks, strong HR presence when behind the scenes they are PE owned and will make layoffs and tough decisions when margins and profits aren't where they were projected to be.
