Pros

* CEO (Dan Burton) is simply the best! He sincerely cares so much about the team members and is an outstanding leader. * Flexibility to balance work and life is allowed.

Cons

* Zoom fatigue is real. Too many meetings with little time for actual work (at times). * Feeling disconnected with no in-person interaction is challenging. * Compensation (salary) is not competitive enough.

Thank you for your review and feedback, and for your four years of contribution to Health Catalyst! Thank you also for sharing the positives you've experienced, including your kind words towards me. I also appreciate your feedback about the challenges, including Zoom fatigue, no in-person connections, and the need for improvements in compensation. Per our discussion earlier today in our all team member meeting, we're working to enable more in-person, face to face connections, in larger and smaller ways, including our invitation to have a meal with a teammate which the company will cover in the next few weeks. I'm also excited about numerous positives related to compensation that are built into the 2022 operating plan for team members. As we discussed today, this was the number 1 priority for our 2022 operating plan, and we traded other priorities off in order to do as much as we possibly could regarding base salaries, benefits, and equity, for team members. These benefits will be flowing meaningfully to team members, starting in the next few weeks with the upcoming equity refresh grants and the companywide bonus payout for strong 2021 performance. They will continue in early April with base salary increases and the next promotion cycle as well. We'll also be investing meaningfully in R&D in order to enable our competitiveness and differentiation at every level of the technology stack and in our domain expertise. I've never felt more excited for our future! Thank you for your many years of contributions towards that future! Best, Dan

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I appreciate the thoughtful recognition of our collaborative culture and the meaningful work the team does together. How we work together matters just as much as what we do. Our operating principles and cultural attributes remain foundational. To address your concerns about processes and roles, as the organization evolves, we’re prioritizing clarity in these areas to better support teams. There’s real momentum building right now, and the work ahead is meaningful. I’m grateful for you and the role you play here, and I’m excited about what we’re building together.

Pros

Great Talent & Culture: The people here are highly capable, collaborative, and committed to helping each other succeed. The partnership between onshore and offshore teams works well and is a real strength. There’s a culture of grit and stability that has helped the company navigate multiple major transitions over the years. Mission-Critical Engineering: The work involves complex data infrastructure that requires deep technical expertise. It can be demanding, but seeing these systems run successfully and support real-world operations is consistently rewarding.

Cons

Wage Compression and Retention Risk: Compensation for tenured and high-performing staff has not kept pace with the market for specialized data engineering and support leadership. In practice, tenure can feel undervalued or even penalized. This creates risk around losing institutional knowledge and operational continuity. Stagnant Career Progression: Contrary to stated expectations, strong performance ratings do not consistently translate into meaningful, market-aligned compensation growth. The process of how compensation is benchmarked lacks clarity in practice, obscuring how compensation decisions are made and what is required to advance.
