Pros

- A performance review every 6 months for the first 3 years with small raises. After 3 years only once a year. - Fully covered health insurance premiums. - Annual profit sharing (% based on salary) into 401K. Fully vested after 4 years. - Option to work public holidays to earn extra vacation days. - Relatively easy work. - Coworkers and team leaders. - Shift work, which normally means not much overtime. - Good amount of responsibility for the countries you manage/monitor. - Location right outside of Grand Central Station. - Not much bureaucracy because it’s a rather small company.

Cons

- Definition of micromanagement. No trust at all. - No break room. Microwave in a room without windows. - Upper management is completely disconnected from the daily DBM life. - 10 vacation days. None for the first 6 months and then you “earn” 5 every 6 months. - No room for growth at all. Like at all. Even as a team manager you’ll probably end up doing the same as a DBM. - Hazardous morning meetings in a room that’s meant for way less people. Even wanted to hold it during the COVID-19 crisis when CDC said to avoid larger gatherings. Changed it after employees started complaining. - No snacks, drinks, or anything provided to employees unless it’s leftovers from when clients visited. After years of fighting for coffee, management finally gave in beginning of 2020. However, only limited supply for the week available because they seem to think people will take it home (validates trust issues) - Upper Management. You are supposed to lead. You should not try and be intimidating! Learn how to be a leader and motivate your people. I don’t yell at you when you make a mistake in coding or constantly forget to send it on time. Also, put the codes back in the guide so DBMs know them and don’t just keep them to yourself. Respect DBMs and don’t treat them like they don’t belong there. When people leave you are the ones they remember and trust me, no company wants to be remembered that way. - High turnover and replacement hiring takes forever, sometimes over half a year leaving the work with the existing employees. - No HR department. A company of that size needs a proper HR department where employees can go to with any kind of concerns and not being sent to the CFO. - Name of position is extremely misleading. - Lack of trust. Even wanted to know what kind of sickness you had when you called in sick. Tried to make it mandatory to tell upper management until it was pointed out that it is illegal. - No 401k match besides profit sharing mentioned in Pros
