Pros

I worked as a cleaner for hassle. I liked the flexibility of the job- I could decline jobs at times when I was very busy, and I got requests quite often so there were lots of opportunities for work. As far as I can see, that's about the only thing hassle.com has over just being an independent self-employed cleaner.

Cons

- One customer refused to pay me with no explanation, and hassle has no system for dealing with this other than attempting to phone the customer. After a few months they basically told me to give up. - Customers frequently cancel repeat bookings after the first clean, to save themselves money. If they've said the reason for this was a poor standard of cleaning, hassle don't ask for any proof (as they promised they would at my interview). You end up losing the €15 lump sum that's taken for the first clean, so it comes down to maybe €7 for two hours of work. A complete waste of time. - Hassle claim not to be an agency, so we cleaners are not employees and therefore get no benefits from them. However, they are happy to make a lot of money off us. It doesn't feel fair at all. I was not informed that customers pay €13.90/h, while the most I earned was €11 for repeat bookings. Is that extra €2.90/h a fee for use of their website? What a joke.
