I am choosing on star because there is no option for "no stars." There is no reason to work here. It was absolutely the worst experience of my career.

I have never experienced such a complete lack of professionalism in my 30+ year career. Art direction was provided by an iPhone snap of a competitor's magazine with the shaded direction to copy it. Editorial direction was graciously provided by another freelancer. Any critique we received was through nastily worded emails (without a complete sentence in any one of them) and vicious telephone calls that brought a seasoned art director to tears. The editorial team (of one, I gather) refused to acknowledge any responsibility for work not being up to standard, and insisted on reduced day rates to accommodate re-shoots. The publication production was shut down without the courtesy of ever informing the editor, and I continued to produce work without knowing production had been stopped. Not one invoice was paid on time and I had to track down payment. It was one debacle after another.
