Pros

-Met some very intelligent people -There is a sense of camaraderie between employees as the policies are horrific

Cons

-Travelling is literally all you do. For no reason. On weekends. You are not allowed to not travel. Wedding anniversaries, birthdays, special events are no excuse and you will likely miss important events in your life at home -You are forced to agree with the Corporate manual in your first week of employment AFTER you have signed your contract. The corporate manual states you are not allowed to complain about missing your family, you must travel outside of work hours, you must travel for at least a week when you travel but if it's international, two weeks is expected. One of the policies is "Zero tolerance for [profanity]." Contracts state you will be compensated for travel time with "free time" after which is not true. -They take the 90 day trial period very seriously. You can be fired at random. -You MUST tell them everything about your life "or you will be fired." This will likely be used against you if they decide to fire you. -They speak ill of other colleagues behind their back -They intentionally hire people they know will be challenging to see how long they'll last -You are asked about your medical history and if you want children or have children and will not be given opportunities based on your answers -You are asked to share rooms and beds with colleagues -Your life is no longer yours when you work there -You are not allowed to eat, drink or sit before the CEO arrives in the room. He dictates when you eat, drink and sit. -Women must shower and change after the "work day" at conferences before dinner (you are not allowed to wear your work clothes to dinner). -You must drink alcohol -You must socialise outside of work and must go out to dinner with all employees -You are reimbursed for meals but you must pay for these outright -They will sometimes tell you whether or not they approve of your spouse -They will call you whatever they like (idiot, fool, stupid, brainless, fat)

HansaWorld Response

Thank you for giving us your feedback. We appreciate all feedback and yours is especially valuable since it emphasises how differently things can be perceived from two different angles. I am happy you noted that many very intelligent people have selected HansaWorld as their employer. We value intelligence, knowledge and friendly relationship between our employees. Let me address your concerns and state HansaWorld’s point of view. We believe that it is beneficial for all employees to get familiar with HansaWorld routines as soon as possible. Therefore we discuss the most relevant policies (for example, traveling, work/life balance, flexible work hours) already during the hiring process. Moreover, the Corporate manual overview is included into the induction training for all new employees. Our Corporate manual is digital. Every policy and routine there has three acceptance options: “Accept”, “Reject” or “Decide later”. Our employees are free to decide which option to select. Traveling globally to work together with colleagues from different countries and cultures is essential for HansaWorld’s success. Travel arrangements are made to best serve the employee and the company. Multiple options are presented for each travel occasion, and it is up to the employee to select the most optimal choice. We do suggest 2 week long intercontinental travel in order to give employees time to adjust to a different time zone and make jet lag as easy as possible. Socialising is very important for us. We are a company with many international and remote teams that have to work closely together. Work goes smoother if you personally know the colleague on the other end of the line. We believe that sharing a meal is a great way to get know your colleague outside of the work environment. We do serve wine during our company dinners but it does not mean drinking alcohol is mandatory. Many employees at any company dinner have only water or soft drinks in their glasses. During the company dinners we wait for all guests to arrive before sitting and starting to eat. I’m sorry if it was misunderstood. And as a woman, I have never felt any pressure to dress up for company dinners. I decide myself based on occasion and a dinner venue. If overtime happens, it is compensated with time off during the work week. Additionally our flexible work hours allows you schedule your work and rest time in order to balance private and work life in an easy way. Our employees usually see this as a great benefit. We want our employees to have a good work/life balance and we believe that work affects private life and private life affects work. Our employees are encouraged to discuss any issues which can affect work (or work problems that can affect private life) with their managers or HR, so the company could help the employees to overcome difficulties as early as possible. Thank you again for your feedback. I hope I have managed to address your concerns. I would wish you were more proactive in raising your doubts about company policies and traveling with your manager or HR, so we could support you. If you would like to speak more about your experience, please contact me at hrhelp@hansaworld.com and we will set up time to talk. Meanwhile we wish you all the best in your career. Kind Regards Reda - HR Manager

Pros

Get to travel, meet great ppl from around the world

Cons

The CEO needs his ego stroked at all times and gets jealous very easily - always needing to be the main character in the room. Narcissistic, sadistic and animalistic in his nature, if you possess certain qualities he lacks, he will automatically hate you because he feels his intelligence compromised. Get ready to be demeaned, insulted and screamed at daily because he will try to break you down until you leave.
