Pros

That working anywhere else is a breeze after having endured the Holocaust of employment opportunities.

Cons

I lost weight working here from the stress alone. I have always been shocked that there hasn't been a class action lawsuit against the verbal abuse and religious discrimination: There's no work on Saturdays (any guesses as to why?) However you must come in for the occasional Sunday, or you "...may not have a job come Monday!"

Hampton Forge Response

Thank you for leaving your feedback, although it's upsetting that you couldn't find any positives within your experience here. In response to your allegation that the owner is discriminating against other religions different then his own is a distortion and spin of the truth. Hampton Forge employs people from various religious backgrounds and has never penalized or fired anyone for their religious beliefs and practices. At no time has Hampton Forge prevented any employee for working on a Saturday or Sunday if business called for it. If an employee is unable to work on a Sunday due to their religious practice (as you describe), it is well understood once management is advised and has always been and will continue to be accommodating. That being said, if the work causing a “working weekend” must be accomplished, it is done either during the work week evenings or on a Saturday. If the owner personally chooses to not work with you on a Saturday it does not mean that any other employee cannot. The owner is both a religious and scholarly gentleman who has great respect for all faiths and holds every one of them to the highest regard. Just as Hampton Forge respects that an employee(s) should or cannot work on their high holy days, the employees should respect that business cannot be conducted during the owner’s. This is neither amiss or against the law as you have suggested. In regards to the women in the company, many of them hold major positions at Hampton Forge all of which are highly respected and compensated equally regardless of gender. At no time is a woman treated any differently from a man as we all hold equal responsibilities to the company and same moral obligations to do our job(s) and do them well.

Pros

The company has been around for almost 3 decades. Stable sales and many employees have been with the company for 10-20 years. Senior managers are knowledgeable and look to help and groom staff under them. Since the products they sell are with all the major retailers, it's a good place to learn kitchen based consumer products. The owner is very smart and will lead by example, showing exactly how something should be done. As long as you have a strong work ethic and are willing to put in the time to learn the processes / products, you will succeed. In my time here I've seen people grow and be given opportunity.

Cons

We could have shorter meetings, as long as the various departments are prepared in advance.
