Pros

The work is fun and varied, you'll be building many different systems and dabbling in design in most facets of the products. The products are mostly military and heavy industry focused, but approached from a training perspective which leads to interesting problems and solutions. All of the employees come from a variety of backgrounds and experiences so it's never a dull moment in the office. The hierarchy is pretty flat, so there's no office politics to contend with and everyone's focused on the same goals. Transparency has improved greatly in recent history, so everyone is briefed regularly on company status and the directions that management is taking the company. Work hours have flexibility, daily stand-up meetings are critical but you can flex the later hours if you have appointments or other needs. Management is accommodating and remote work is also available when necessary.

Cons

Resources are thin due to the need for specialized skills and experience, so expect to wear different hats on different days. Not many benefits yet: health insurance is available but no 401k or bonuses. Company management frameworks are still being built and molded, so don't expect all resources questions to have clear answers immediately.

Pros

- Product has a lot of potential, and is getting better - Inclusive and good people all around, including leadership team - Fully remote is a big plus - Competitive benefits - Generally clean and well-built software all around - Unreal Game Engine is cool to work around - Very talented and smart engineers all around - Unique and very interesting tech stack; everyone is working on interesting problem sets no matter the engineering role from what it seems like

Cons

- Communication on business outlook could be better, but leadership seems to be working on this - Non-technical leadership in leadership roles attempting to push engineering ideas often - Pay is not competitive, but not bad - Pushing too much AI in product and workflows, but there is smart push-back from engineers on where we shouldn't be using it, and engineers are listened to much of the time (not common in tech industry) - It seems like senior leadership team and product roadmapping decisions don't incorporate a lot of military experience, and the products are sold to military units. Should focus on getting people who understand military operational value in decision making roles more
