Pros

Amazing pension International exposure Small projects can bring £Millions of benefits

Cons

1) Data Science capability is poor here. It is mostly marketing. The internal data scientists are so bad especially those from grad schemes. It takes their "best" 6 months to do a light weight regression. 2) No access to data. HSBC doesn't have access or understanding of its own data. It takes nearly 1 year to get access to data. 3) Poor communication: No understanding of what ML is or what it does. Most technical teams do not understand what theyre doing. You believe youre here to do Data Science but you're doing 5 technical computer science roles. 4) Rumours, Cliques, and Politics - To survive at HSBC you dont need to do work or be technical. You just need to be liked. 5) People take credit for your work - This is common in all levels. Especially with White coworkers claiming work for BAME employees. This is prevalent in senior management and data scientist cohort. The offshore Indian data scientists get the brunt the worst 6) Blame Game: If you do not know how to say meaningless monologues so people like you personally. Then you will become a scapegoat for others mistakes. 7) You're not allowed to speak up: your opinions are not values if they do not conform to the majority view. Data Science is not valued at HSBC its just marketed very well. 8) Underperformers go inexplicably unaddressed. Especially if they're from the Grad Scheme or have been here for years. 9) Disrespect and Condescension is very high here. You will be afraid to be yourself at work.

Pros

Never come. All the positions and all area is same terrible. HR official turnover rate reach to 15%, some core hard working positions even can be a higher rate

Cons

They don't respect employees, there's a suit in New York area initiated by previous bankers in 2023. Because they asked for a lot of volunteering work on formal job but never pay
