Pros

You love your clients. Plenty of overtime. Benefits are above average. Depending on your client it can be a very low stress job. Can be fun and is rewarding job. Accu vacation quickly. If something comes up or you forgot an appointment, you can get other staff to cover your shifts. Some managers are great about acknowledging your efforts and even give Hit bucks that you can exchange for gift cards. Other managers not so much. They gave a $2000 retention bonus if you worked through Covid, $200 bonus for getting a Covid shot, and $5000 referral bonus but that is over two years.

Cons

Only make minimum wage when you work overnight $7.25 in sleep time. Even when you get a raise it doesn’t affect your sleep time. So if I make $17 an hour on awake time and I am only scheduled to be awake for 2 1/2 hours a shift the other 7 1/2 hours of my shift I only make $7.25 an hour. Even when you get a raise it never affects your sleep time wage. Here’s an example 2022 I’ll hit employees received a dollar an hour raise. For a regular 40 hour day employee that would mean $80 per pay period or $2,080 a year raise. For overnight staff who only receive 2 1/2 hours awake time pay per shift and work seven days on and seven days off that means $17.50 per pay period and a yearly raise of $455. -you have to use your own vehicle to transport clients. Gas prices have doubled over the last few years and Hit has only raised it’s mileage reimbursement from .50 to .60 cents just recently. This mostly affects staff who work 4 – 10 shift. -You take them out to eat in restaurants and do not get reimbursed anything towards your own meal. I realize you have to eat anyway but you probably would choose different company if you were going out to eat. - it can take months to resolve an issue. This includes needs that you see for the client and health issues. Sometimes your opinion is not hard because you’re just a DSP. -Some managers do not respond to texts and calls. -Some staff do not carry their own load and it is forced on other staff. -Management has favorites. High burnout rate.
