Pros
The benefits are good, with a few exceptions (such as no tuition reimbursement). It is a truly global company full of dedicated people. The atmosphere in Chicago is high-paced but also can be casual and flexible in working from home and taking PTO. My experience in working here is generally a very positive one.
Cons
The salaries are generally not great and the biggest downside of working here. This depends on which department you work in, but by and large NAVTEQ is not known for their competitive salaries. Communication internally is often not very good and there are a lot of cases where it feels like the right hand doesn't talk to the left. Most people only know what they are working on and have no idea what other groups are up to, even if those efforts can help them.
