Pros

Generous access to some tools, so it's good to gain exposure to some important ones such as Morningstar Direct, Tableau. Great launching pad company if you have great social skills. Generous retirement plan.

Cons

Leadership rolled out an initiative for the company to adapt a start-up culture/mindset - which meant they laid off several employees and anyone who's left will do more than they originally signed up for. So many leaders (managers & heads) have personal relationships outside of work and have special work arrangements. For example, a temp employee gets to decide what days and times they want to work throughout the week. This is a nightmare for operations. A manager was approved to work part-time after the company mandated RTO while others have to choose to stay or leave, and so many more. Management keeps making decisions like these and don't realize it's hurting team morale and company culture. CEO seems ok but mid-managers is a problem.

Pros

- Most people are genuinely nice and good to work with - Great pay and great benefits

Cons

I was never that tuned into the high level business, but even in the couple years I was there, there were huge, whiplash-inducing shifts in the business strategy. Feels like they are desperately trying to find a way to get back to their mutual fund earning model, and have a very scattered approach to doing so. On the technology side, the worst leadership I’ve ever seen and it’s not even close. Don’t express your opinion, don’t ask questions, don’t bring any kind of logic or evidence to the table, just shut up and do what the boss says, even if he has been consistently wrong on every decision for the past 6 months. Terrible communication, no semblance of long term planning, and constant micromanaging. Vindictive, controlling, petty, just a mess. I’m genuinely curious how the team will fare in the next year. In terms of architecture, the team is built around a few individuals who have been there for a decade+ and get anything they want. Opinions outside of these folks are not valued, and if you do get traction with something on your own, it will likely be dominated by these people before it gets into production or far into implementation.
