Pros

Focus on connecting with the community, CEO is personable and friendly

Cons

Where to start... Inconsistency--I was constantly being told different things all the time. Training--I was supposed to refer to an assigned, more tenured member of my team, but she worked remotely and would not always be able to answer quickly, which meant I either didn't do anything for several minutes or moved on to the next task and hope she eventually got back to me. When I asked my teammates in office, I got reprimanded (or they did). There are no insurance benefits, and the pay is... not good. Management--while the CEO embodies what I assume Christians mean by "living by Christian values," I didn't see much of that from my direct manager, who was often so inappropriate with me that I would make myself sick thinking about going in to work. Because the office is so small, though, it hardly seems like there's a place to go for those issues, especially when you're an interloper. The environment was also extremely toxic overall. Oh, and there's a Corporate Chaplin. He's a real nice guy, but I actually don't like being torn away from my work once a week to "just chat".

Thanks for your comments. It’s tough to do your job when you have unanswered questions or if you’re made to feel bad about your work. That shouldn’t happen. Of course, there’s some stress in any job. Training and experience can help overcome that. In your future endeavors, remember that your Human Resources representative may be able to help resolve issues. Please speak up when you feel things aren’t going right. We want employees to be empowered and to enjoy their work.

Pros

Flexible schedule, work from home

Cons

First I will start with the pay. After being with the company for almost a decade my pay rate was $13/hr. Long time loyal and dedicated employees are not rewarded. There are no bonuses or small tokens of appreciation given. I received a minimal raise about every two years. My milestones with the company were never acknowledged. I am a person with a disability and I had accommodations in place. I received many mixed messages from management. HR gave me one accommodation for CPH, QA told me something else, and meanwhile I was receiving emails from someone else telling me that I wasn't meeting the company's minimum CPH requirements. The pressure was intense. Next I'd like to talk about the company's culture. This is a Christian company. When I first started at the company, I experienced a personal tragedy. I cried often at work. I'm talking about full on sobbing on calls while being recorded by QA. Not a soul reached out to me during that time. I was so alone and it would've meant so much to me if someone had cared. Without mentioning names, the Employee Support Department was comprised of strictly black and white thinkers. My attendance was exemplary. I'll never forget when my elderly mother with dementia fell, fracturing her clavicle and patella, requiring surgery. I was given a no call/no show by Employee Support for the day of her surgery. No, it didn't matter because my attendance was excellent, it was the principle. CEAs ( at least this one) were treated like naughty, annoying little children who need close monitoring. I suspect that management enjoy affirmations, fair pay, and understanding in their positions. They seem like they stay in their jobs for years and years.
