Pros

I've been with the company for several years, and I started working at Gun.io after a pretty terrible experience at a different company: I was burnt out, tired of being disrespected, and unwilling to be underpaid and undervalued anymore. I made this really clear in my interview, and company leadership has taken that to heart over the years. I've always felt respected by leadership here, and like my hard work is consistently rewarded and recognized. I've learned a ton about growing a business, and I love that leadership is invested in our professional development. If I ever want to take a course, go to a conference, or buy a book that will help me be better, the company offers to pay for it. We're even encouraged to spend a (paid) hour a day learning to code (for those of us who aren't developers). I also really appreciate how much the team respects and cares about my life outside of work. We're given the freedom to balance the work with our personal lives in whatever ways work for us, and I've never felt pressure to sacrifice the rest of my life for the company's gain.

Cons

I've seen other employees struggle with the autonomy and responsibility required to succeed here (and you'll probably see some of their reviews here on Glassdoor as well). For people looking for a job where someone tells you exactly what to do and how to do it, this probably isn't the place for you. We hold each other to a really high standard, so it's usually really clear when someone else isn't pulling their weight. Also (contrary to what someone wrote about the CEO being intoxicated, which I've never seen during my years here), the team doesn't fit into the "work hard, play hard" stereotype of a lot of young startups. If you're looking for a company that's going to do weekly happy hours or a bunch of extracurriculars, it's not Gun. It's a pretty mature team that genuinely likes each other, but you won't find them at the bar together after work. Personally, I love this, but those who are used to larger companies where socializing is more of a focus might struggle.

Rapid growth can occasionally lead to shifting priorities. Some processes are still evolving and can feel unstructured at times.

Pros

Not really any pros. They're not transparent about anything

Cons

Lack of transparency why you are not selected when you match the job description 100% and they don't choose you. I'm in the US and it seems they have a lot of overseas developers at a much cheaper rate. If you're in the US, stay away unless you want to work at a low rate,
