Pros

Amazing employee discount. I'll start off with that. You work at a shop where nearly every person coming through the door has something in common with you. You get to talk to cool people about all the things they're doing. You get to educate new musicians. It's an all around good time.

Cons

Most of the staff experience the classic "over-worked and under-paid" syndrome. The turn-over rate is insane, simply because the work that is expected and required is not met with a reasonable income. You have to be a phenomenal salesperson. all the while keeping the store clean and putting POPS (price tags) on everything and building displays. If you focus too much on sales and not cleaning, you get yelled at. If you focus too much on cleaning and not sales, you don't make any money and are yelled at. It's an impossible thing to juggle. Also, most associates are left feeling wildly under appreciated, despite the intense nature of the job and the high level of competency that is required to work there. ALSO, it's so sexist and a total boy's club. It's disheartening.

Pros

Sweet deals and discounts Coworkers are very pleasant to work with Good as extra income Good for aspiring musicians to network with experts of the industry

Cons

Obsolete softwares Scheduling system software that is thenmost imperative tool as of it will be the backbone of a lesson lead for your team of instructors success it's also somewhat obsolete amd constantly crashing both IT and Upper management are aware. IT is very diligent and pleasant to work with but Upper management expects their lessons lead to work and deliver at 100% capacity while they continue to have an operating system that only works at 75% capacity, just beware of that and if you're willing to work under those conditions. With that put there go at your own discretion. Nobody gets Christmas/winter holiday vacation time off, also go at your own discretion on that one especially if you have kids and family looking for work-life-balance.
