Pros
- you get to meet and work with some really nice people (sometimes) - increase your knowledge with art supplies/paint supplies and practices - store discount
Cons
Management is like three kids in a trench coat, they can't make up their minds half the time and everyone has a different idea on what policy is correct or not, if you want a pay raise for a new position title they will fight tooth and nail to give you the lowest possible pay they can with that position, good luck getting a proper weekend since they refuse to give people consecutive days off, the store manager has changed shifts without asking or any sort of notice, sent employees to other stores without any prior notice (and didn't ask either!). I wish mercy on your soul if you work in the art department, if you can even get them to let you work in the department in the first place - there's not even 4 people working in the department that's full of thousands of sku's and items! There are days where you will be the only person in the department and will be flooded, the paint department is semi-functional at best, the design department has people coming in and out of the job, they are also understaffed and overwhelmed. You will meet some nice people at the job, though some employees will think they have agency over your job and start acting like a pseudo-manager (even if you're the same position, same pay), & will talk down to you! A majority of the regulars that come in are very unkind, and will get angry with you, though there is a small handful of very kind people, overall I would not recommend this company for anyone.
