Pros
Amazing mission with life changing results- stories of our dogs impact are shared with staff every week, Leadership truly cares about helping the people we serve and about each and every employee who works here, flexibility to work with and learn from multiple department areas, encouragement of creative ideas and out of the box thinking, get to see dogs everyday, great response to covid-19 pandemic- one of the main concerns of management, besides caring for our dogs, was keeping everyone employed and taken care of, co-employees who care about your well-being
Cons
As long as you are a hard worker, you will be fine. Because we have a relatively small employee base, everyone helps out with multiple areas/ departments and sometimes deadlines can get stressful, as with all nonprofits. You will be fine if you are willing to put in the work to the best of your ability and ask for help when you need it. Other staff members and management will lend a hand when needed.
