Pros
pay and benefits are good
Cons
Most partners are ex-big4 so you have all the cons of a big firm with none of the benefits. Workpapers and client quality isn't great either, so you also have the all the downsides of a smaller firm with none of the upsides. It's the worst of both worlds. Certain partners don't know how to handle stress and lash out. Really high turnover even for a public accounting firm. Terrible communication from leadership group. Only people that stick around are seemingly people that started their career there and don't know any better. Firm stresses "culture" but has none to speak of. No identity on what they want to be or where the firm is going. Running a CPA firm is fairly braindead and takes little talent, so the business is doing fine.
