Much of how you view Greenphire will depend on which department you are in. From what I have observed, I am shocked Greenphire has recently won best places to work. It has a lot of problems to fix and definitely, in my opinion, does not deserve it. - Unlimited PTO - won't be paid out for it when you leave. - Reactive rather than proactive. - Management - on average incompetent, apathetic, and in dire need of management and leadership training. I have overheard more than one manager talk down to their employees in a rude, condescending tone. - Coworkers - Most are good, but there are several who have seem to have perfected doing the bare minimum and sliding their work to others. - Broken resourcing models - If you are unlucky and get put on a busy team, expect to be overworked, while other teams are underworked. If you complain, it will take months to get any sort of help. -Blatant favoritism - If you are not in the in-crowd, don't expect to receive any recognition for your work or resources when you need help. - Little training. Poor documentation. - Manual processes abound and there is very little effort to rectify this. - Broken products and lack of a drive to fix them properly - heard one manager say that one recent product was rushed out with a ton of bugs so that the CEO wouldn't have egg on his face in front of the board after how much longer it had taken than planned. - Reviews - Your performance review will be based on 4 subjective categories. This means that if your manager does not like you or does not observe you much, he/she has the power to dock your review and invent nonsense that you will not be able to refute since it's all subjective. - For many positions, don't expect to do what you were hired here to do. - Little to no opportunities for job growth. - Trend towards hiring contractors lately.
