This is NOT a place to build a career. You will work very hard for $8 an hour plus tips. Benefits, if offered by your franchise owner, are dependent upon working "full time" which is next to impossible to do. If the salon is slow you will be sent home. If it is busy you are expected to stay past your shift or come in on your day off to help out. You are graded monthly on how well you perform the "five steps" that all stylist are required to do with each client. You must say "Welcome to Great Clips" every time a client enters, use your mirror to show them the back of their head BEFORE you do their hair, you must complete each haircut within 13-17 minutes, and sell a minimum of 6% in product sales. If you fall short you are written up and belittled. Most stylists last a few months and move on. You are required to work a flexible schedule that changes weekly. You have no set days off . You basically live your life around Great Clips.
