Pros

Full disclosure: I recently joined the team, so I'm just going to review the interview process and give some initial observations. What struck me from the beginning of my interview process was how thorough and thoughtful the team had been in designing the candidate experience: I had a few short intro calls to get to know some folks, then I did a task that was really interesting and meaty. It felt like the hiring folks had thought through what they wanted to get from me. I then presented that task to the team, they asked lots of good questions and it felt more like I was working with the team already rather than being asked questions just to catch me out. I felt like I got to show my best self, they got to see how I work and what I know, and we both got a sense of what it's like to work together. Nice. I was then invited to a trial week. The trial week was at the Granola office in Shoreditch where I worked on a specific project for the week. Everyone on the team was great and extremely helpful and actively willing to work with me on my project. Overall I'd say it was probably the best, if not one of the best, interview processes I've ever been through. It felt thorough, yet also kind. There was a big emphasis on whether Granola would be a good fit for me as well as whether I'd be a good fit for Granola. And since joining, that same vibe has remained – everyone is willing to help each other, there is a culture of moving fast and building actually useful things for people.

Pros

- Working building a product people genuinely love - Super flexible in-person culture - we're 5 days in the office by default but extremely understanding of peoples' various life circumstances - Total ownership over your area - everyone is experienced and trusted to make good decisions for the products they're building or areas they own - Visionary founders who care a huge amount about the product and people they work with - Gorgeous, light and plant-filled office space - Free breakfast, lunch and dinner if you stay past 7pm - Generous salary, benefits, equity

Cons

Likely to hit growing pains at some point soon, we can't keep operating like a 20 person company forever (though we've managed it til now, with 60 people!)
