Pros

From my experience at Granite, management cares about it's employees and has an invested interested in having employees promoted and moving to more senior positions. Unlike other companies where you need to wait in line due to seniority, at Granite, your career is in YOUR hands. Some employees get promoted multiple times a year. Employees can become a supervisor or manager after only working at Granite a short time. Initiative, enthusiasm, and talent is what you need to be successful. Your length of time at the company is does not matter to be successful. Benefit offerings have increased over the last two years: more days off, STD, better 401k match, and other benefits. Great gym! There are always special bonuses for days off and extra competitions for money during each year. Granite gave a million dollars to employees last year. Best part of Granite: You learn something new each day. You feel like you accomplished something and you feel valued. I would never leave Granite to work anywhere else.

Cons

Can be reactionary because we move quickly. You need to react and move quickly. I enjoy this but some employees have a hard time with the fast paced nature of the company and industry.

Pros

No pros what so ever.

Cons

This company and specifically the collections department have very little opportunity for growth, despite what may be promised during the hiring process. Honestly, it’s a circus. Non stop tasks are thrown at employees each day. And Goals are constantly increased so analyst can’t reach them. Employees who work hard and consistently perform well often find themselves stuck in the same position with no clear path for advancement. Promotions and opportunities never appear to be based on performance or merit. Management is one of the biggest issues. They have no clue. Favoritism is prevalent, and certain employees seem to receive special treatment, better opportunities, and more support than others. This creates a frustrating and discouraging work environment where many employees feel undervalued and overlooked. Morale suffers when performance and dedication are overlooked in favor of personal relationships and when there is little accountability for management and no transparency regarding career development. Communication from leadership is lacking, and employee concerns are not addressed. Management gets defensive when employees ask questions or disagree with their stupid decisions. Overall, it can be a VERY challenging place to build a longterm career if you are looking for fair treatment, professional growth, and strong leadership. Turnover rate is very high. Also, micro management is at an all time high. Would not even recommend this place to a college grad for entry level experience, if i could Put 0 stars, i would. For the sake of your mental health, stay far away.
