Pros

Creative work environment where you can effect your businesses on all levels. The stores are a NYC institution with a unique mix of price/product.

Cons

The sales staff is poorly managed by department managers. A lot of associates have been working there for years and are stuck in their ways. Buying staff is first to blame when something goes wrong. Buyers are asked to do a lot outside of job description. HR manager is cold and extremely disconnected with staff needs.

Pros

The overall experience was helpful, as this was for my Senior Co-Op in my last semester of college. Everyone was nice and welcoming but the environment was a little stuffy and I felt as though I could have been more appreciated for the amount of work I covered for multiple buyers. The workload was decent and they were lenient when it came to supervision. No one was standing over my shoulder at all times of the day. I got to sit in on vendor and buyer meetings and handled a lot of purchase orders, while also attending in store meetings to discuss placement and progress weekly.

Cons

During my internship, they hired an outside person for an entry level position instead of offering me the job or even making me aware that they were looking. I found this upsetting because I got great reviews on my progress during and after my internship so don't think I just wasn't fit, I feel it was there way of using me while having another employee for as long as they could. Basically they maximized on the free work I was doing for them instead of hiring me. It was dissapointing but it wasn't a bad experience.
