Pros
- You get to meet and network with executives from defense contractors and really dig your roots into the industry - Very flexible hours, fully remote - Interesting problems that are closer to AI lab in scale but very practical and customer-facing - Lots of opportunities to contribute to product and do interesting R&D projects
Cons
- Early stage, so technical direction often shifts - Steep learning curve with security requirements and working with classified data, if you're not USG-facing it will be a lot to learn in a short amount of time - Remote job but you can't work from locations outside the continental US due to security restrictions, so not fit for digital nomad-ing
