GoodTherapy.org

Is this your company?

Lots of potential, but mindset lets them down - Customer Service Associate GoodTherapy.org Employee Review

Pros

Pretty self-directed, if you can do your job well you're left to do it which I liked.

Cons

The executives do the thing where they say they're there for you, you can rely on them, etc., and then they let you down the second they have an opportunity. I was made a lot of promises and then laid off with no notice immediately after making a huge life decision based on what they told me my future was there. Management has its head in the clouds and they care a lot more about looking cool than actually maintaining an effective workforce.

Thank you for your feedback. We view open dialog as an opportunity for change and growth. You are correct, the company does not have a traditional sick time and vacation time policy. Instead, the company is proud to offer a competitive paid time off (PTO) policy to all full-time team members. This program combines traditional vacation and sick leave into one flexible PTO policy which allows team members to use leave at their discretion. I am personally saddened to hear you may not have been satisfied with some of our company policies or felt unsupported by HR. When policy changes are made they are done to improve the well-being of team members while balancing the needs of the company to ensure successful, fair operations. Many of our policy updates and changes come directly from suggestions made by team members. Collaboration at all levels, including policy writing, is an important team value. I am committed to continuing to work with team members to create a work environment where everyone feels supported and valued. We hear your concerns about compensation and growth opportunities. The company is very committed to investing in team members through increased wages and higher salary ranges, training opportunities, expanded benefits, and growth opportunities. All team members have the potential to receive raises based on performance, and we have many team members who have been promoted or transitioned in to different departments and positions within the company over time. It sounds like you view our management team as inexperienced. GoodTherapy.org is fortunate to have a dedicated staff with a breadth of knowledge, training, and experience. The same is true of our leadership team who have decades of combined experience and training in their respected fields, as well as hands-on experience performing frontline company operations. We also like to promote from within when we have team members that demonstrate dedication and leadership qualities. Team members at every level are passionate about furthering the mission and vision of GoodTherapy.org and supporting one another. Without knowing the specific information or data you felt you didn’t have access to, it is difficult to respond to those concerns. The company uses data to make informed decisions and works hard to continually make improvements. Additionally, we are continually evolving the programs and equipment we use to improve and adapt to the ever changing technology in our field. It is true that some turnover in a growing company is unavoidable, and we are always sad to see team members leave. However, we try to support team members who transition out and it is exciting when our talented team members are offered new opportunities and positions within their fields. We are also fortunate to have many long-term team members who have been with the company since shortly after the website was launched, and we work hard to create long-term career opportunities for our team members. It also sounds like you might not have always felt valued while working for the company. Team members are the company’s most important asset and having team members feel satisfied and valued is our top priority. We place a high value on creating a positive company culture through team building activities such as team lunches, team building events, and days of service where we volunteer together. With your feedback, we will strive to invest even more into team member recognition and healthy team bonding. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and for providing us the opportunity to address your concerns. Through collaboration with current and former team members we will continue to make GoodTherapy.org a company people are excited to be a part of. Best wishes, Ellen Saline HR Director www.GoodTherapy.org
