Pros

Ability to work remote, flexible with work schedule if you have kids, pretty good market share in their industry

Cons

Family owned business, every single decision from top to bottom is emotionally charged. All decisions are micro-managed by the top tier of management, even though all departments have their own managers. Previously fired employees are welcomed back frequently, making it hard to trust or respect your coworkers. Very low opportunity for promotion, really difficult to advance your career. The initial job offer salary is pretty good but movement from that point is slow and sometimes non-existent. The HR department is anything but confidential. If you have any questions or concerns, there is no safe place to express it.

Global Software Response

Thank you for your feedback. We try to keep a healthy work-life balance and that is why we offer the flexibility that we do. As with most companies, both family owned and publicly traded, certain approvals are required depending on the situation. We try not to micromanage and rely heavily on our leadership staff when possible, they are there for a reason. We always welcome back previous employees that are eligible for rehire. We appreciate the loyalty and desire to come back, sometimes people believe there is a better opportunity outside of Global only to realize how much they love and miss Global Software. Our HR team stays compliant with all HR confidentiality regulations and laws. That being said there are certain things that must be passed on to upper management based on policies and procedures. We are a worldwide company with employees throughout the United States and in Europe, we would not be able to effectively run our organization with all of management under one roof. We always welcome feedback and suggestions on how we continue to evolve our company. Please send us an email at recruit@globalsoftewarein.com to further discuss your concerns.

Pros

Global is a really great company and offers a really ingenious product widely needed and sought after. Customer come back when they switch companies to implement Spreadsheet Server, so you see the difference it makes in people's lives-- neat to see. The people at Global are really nice and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Cons

The business is growing quickly and they need to stay two steps ahead with hiring.

Pros

Global has something special about the company that in my experience as a sales executive is hard to find. There's a sense of family, team, and oneness. The posture is laid back, while at the same time focused. There's a mutual goal for moving forward, growing the business, making sure everyone is being successful, the sharing of ideas, and a constant eagerness to be better than the day before. I contribute this to great management and leadership focused on taking care of its employees and striving towards the success of it customers. The product works, customers are in love with Spreadsheet Server and the suite of software tools they offer. The company looks to have a strong future. This makes it great for sales and marketing to have a tool that works and you can leverage and stand behind confidently. Moreover, it is evident that Global views every customer as a priority and is willing to do whatever it takes to make it's customers happy for ensuring long partnerships. One word to describe Global Software: Integrity One more big perk: Stand-up desks

Cons

There are aspects and preferences you can find that could be better for every person or company you come in contact with. At Global, there are more great things than there are less than preferable things. Some of the cons I would include are: Not everybody works from one location. There could be better tools in place for sales/marketing Training could be better Greater collaboration between departments Cordless headphones.
