Pros
- Talented and knowledgeable people hired in previous years. - Compensation used to be attractive. - Stable company with good financial management and planning at the high level. - Leader in it's area.
Cons
- Management of people and company culture leaves a very bad impression on employees. - Emphasis on presenteeism instead of actual work preference of employees. Boilerplate chatGpt like statements about office attendance fostering culture and collaboration. - Virtually non-existent raises, stating that despite the company being highly profitable, with year over year double digit increases in revenue, the times are turbulent, so the company cannot give raises (that even meet inflation!). - Very small bonuses, despite increasing revenue of company (due to unrealistic revenue goals being set by c-level management). - Too much politics especially between lower and upper management. - No real interest in employees opinions or needs. Very infrequent polls/questionnaires that result in zero substantial changes being made. This fact, combined with highly political stance of lower management results in employees views probably never reaching upper management. I do believe that upper management cares about the company, so hopefully they will take some action in this direction. - Very bad system of evaluation and promotion, relying too heavily on how liked people are by teammates, often resulting in wrong people getting promoted.
