Pros
The transparency at GitLab is shocking. I have never experienced something like this with former employers. I knew more about the workings of the company before I started than with any other company. Also the embodiment of of GitLab's values is prevalent and apparent among most everyone.
Cons
I spend more time searching written documentation than at other companies, but I think it's a good thing in a way.
