Pros
Exposed to a variety of technologies on a daily basis. Fast moving environment allowed for a lot of learning and growth. Got great exposure to business processes, finance, strategic operations, etc. Gigenet is a company that is not afraid to take risks in the marketplace and develop its own products to stay competitive. At the time their size allowed them to move quickly and pivot when necessary. In the few years that I worked there I was exposed to many different technologies on both the infrastructure side and software development side that have fueled the growth of my career in other organizations since. I've since worked for them a few times as a contractor on freelance projects they've asked me to help with. Very good healthcare benefits for such a small company.
Cons
Not much flexibility for sick time/working remote. Would be challenging for a single parent.
