8yThe health insurance market is certainly a dynamic one. We’ve seen a lot of change from the launch of the Affordable Care Act, to subsequent changes under the new administration. Since our business is tied to these changes, it’s natural the company would need to adjust course as well.
GetInsured also expanded into the seasonal Medicare market last year. With this expansion, we brought on new agents to help eligible consumers find Medicare Advantage and Supplement plans. These agent positions are sales positions with performance and metrics tied to them, like any sales position. While many agents were hired into full-time positions, performance didn’t always match expectations, seasonal demand dropped off, and the staff was managed accordingly. In addition, as with any new market entry, plans need to be altered as the company learns more about its new business line.
