Pros
You can progress and climb to senior management relatively quickly. You get to work on a variety of project all over the planet, for some of the biggest names in business. The people and spirit within most offices is amazing.
Cons
Your design will be diluted by those above you until there is little of substance there. Design is unfortunately Genslers shortfall. There is a problem when you have to give out internal design excellence awards to make your staff feel like they have achieved (but at the same time not be able to produce the type of design that merits a "real" design award). Most of the senior management conduct themselves and their careers like politicians instead of designers. When Frank Gehry held up "the finger" recently to modern architecture, this is one of the firms he will have been directing it to.
