Pros
I feel trusted to do work without much supervision. No overbearing bureaucracy or strict processes in place. There are frameworks in place but every team is encouraged to make their own agreements and do what is appropriate for that particular team/project. Things can change fast here which feels great for personal growth, especially compared to larger tech corporations I've worked at in the past. I feel supported by my team and manager, I feel I also get to work closely with those in leadership positions. Unlimited PTO and a remote position are great perks. Beer, drinks, and snacks are free in the office. The environment is generally laid back compared to the "formal" nature of most corporate environments.
Cons
-No paid parental leave, which is inexcusable nowadays. -Max 401k contribution is $4,000 annually. While not inexcusable, it's literally a fraction of my previous employers. Lowest i've seen in years. -No RSUs/stock grants. For a company in an extremely high growth stage, with the results to prove it, this is something that needs to be considered. Too many competitors are offering this and we are losing talent because of it. Standard corporate problems, nothing out of the ordinary. Too many meetings where people are wasting time and not solving problems. Too many competing priorities without clear direction/plans from senior leadership. Too many people who are unfamiliar with the product are in leadership roles. Global workforce means you could have regular meetings well outside a standard 9 to 5. That said, Genesys is still a great place to work.
