GenesisCare Response
4yThank you for your recent feedback and we are very sorry to hear you feel this is your experience of working at GenesisCare.
Like any healthcare provider, we have experienced some significant challenges around staff absence during Covid over the past 2 years and this has meant we have had to ask individuals to travel to other centres to ensure patients can continue to be treated. We recognise this has taken a toll on our teams and we are incredibly appreciative of the flexibility and patient-focused approach that all employees within GenesisCare have demonstrated on a daily basis.
Our radiotherapy employee model does take into account allowances for annual leave, training and sickness, dependant on patient mix / complexity. Responding to feedback from our teams, we have recently undertaken a review of this model and are increasing our headcount across our network both in recognition of the growing patient demand and complexity, but also to allow additional time for training and leave. Increasing our regional radiographer headcount also means we can better support across the network. These extra roles are in addition to the Regional Principal Radiographers, who provide additional clinical leadership, support and progression opportunities across the network.
We review staffing levels daily to ensure we have safe staffing in place each day and in each location to be able to provide the high quality patient care that patients and referrers expect from GenesisCare and we have never operated a one radiographer staffing model.
We appreciate the dedication shown by our radiographers to continue to support our patients through their treatment journeys and we are committed to ensuring that our vacancies are filled as quickly as possible
